A piece I created for Wee Hopes — 10,000 Journeys Art Gallery to help build a library in Gondar, Ethiopia.

The piece is inspired by the book Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom. I read the book for a class a couple years ago, then re-read the book last summer understanding much more than the first time around. I truly admire what Morrie talks about on his final journey, and wanted to share that experience. Not quite sure if I did Mictch Albom’s novel justice, but I definitely had fun painting this piece.

"Don’t let go too soon, but don’t hang on too long. Find the balance."

Edit: Here is the gallery website complete with the submissions. Bidding starts this Friday, July 18!

«Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can’t. You know the month, the year, the day of the week. There is a clock on your wall or the dashboard of your car. You have a schedule, a calendar, a time for dinner or a movie. Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. Birds are not late. A dog does not check its watch. Deer do not fret over passing birthdays. an alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour. And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures. A fear of time running out» #mitchalbom #thetimekeeper
